 We are two musicians with over 20 years of showbiz management and production experience in the music field from Accra to London, New York, Paris and Geneva. We are Robert Bannerman and Roy Aouad. Our music is cosmopolitan and designed for all cultures and age groups. We are born and bred in Accra, Ghana and have played with various international bands worldwide. Our influences range from Gap Band, Jimi Hendrix, Herbie Hancock, Earth Wind and Fire, Edgar Winter, Rolling Stones and James Brown. Funkmata was formed in October 2001 as a re-engineered new look to our former band Kamouflage.
 Although our music does not have the strict African flavour some people anticipate from African bands, we believe we have something new to offer with our cosmopolitan sound. We have understood that it is imperative for Africa to wake up from its doldrums and be involved with the global community in its search for market segments that generate wealth and promote export orientated projects.
